Wales is home to CSconnected, the world's first global centre of excellence for Compound Semiconductor technologies, a unique eco-system of advanced technology capabilities leading the way in applied research, collaborative innovation and world-class volume production facilities, CSconnected is playing a key role in positioning Wales and the UK at the forefront of bringing new and emerging technology applications to global markets.

CSconnected is a cluster of world-leading academic institutions and global industry striving to connect its members, providing thought leadership and expertise to foster and promote the importance of Compound Semiconductors as a key enabling technology.

Boasting pedigrees of more than 30 years' each across the clusters core academic and industrial partners, Wales' position in advanced technologies was boosted by the announcement on 26th June 2020 that the region was to receive UK government funding under the Strength in Places initiative to support £47M of projects to build on its clear global leadership position.
