What is the potential of blockchain? Join us for the virtual Challenge Fund Finale to discover blockchain's potential and see what nine projects have achieved in just eight short weeks.

What to Expect

The virtual event will kick off with an opening presentation followed by panels with the Blockchain Innovators and Challenge Owners. The speakers will explore the Challenge Fund's four themes and how these pilot projects are using blockchain to innovate.

This is an event for those looking to understand more about blockchain, discover how it's already being used especially within Wales and these key industries, and learn about efficient ways to test this emerging technology in your organisation. Come join us to connect with the blockchain community in Wales!

Brought to you by Blockchain Connected and fully-funded by the Welsh Government, the 'Demonstrating the Potential of Blockchain' Challenge Fund brought together Challenge Owners and Blockchain Innovators to explore the art of the possible and dispel myths around this emerging technology.

After an incredible response to the Demonstrating the Potential of Blockchain Challenge Fund, nine projects were funded across four themes: Net Zero, Circular Economy, Supply Chains, and Digital Record.

The projects span across agriculture, finance, fishing, energy, medicine, film, steel, and transport. The diversity of blockchain and the interest to use it is clear. Now we look to understand what the potential really is to use blockchain for these key industries. Join us for this finale of live project discussions to discover the true potential of blockchain technology in Wales and beyond.

Find out how blockchain can and will apply across industries – and how it could apply to your organisation, too.

About the Challenge Fund

Demonstrating the Potential of Blockchain is a Challenge Fund presented by Blockchain Connected, funded by the Welsh Government. The Challenge was run with support from our platform partner SimplyDo, who provide a full service challenge experience for all participants.

The blockchain community is growing in Wales. The need for blockchain technology solutions has never been greater and the pandemic has shone a light on the fragility of critical technology around the world, leading to a sharp acceleration of innovation.

This Blockchain Challenge supported by the Welsh Government aims to Demonstrate the Potential of Blockchain and fund innovative, small scale proof-of-concept R&D projects to evidence how blockchain could be used for economic, societal, and environmental benefit.
