Dr John Davies MBE - Co-Founder, Cyber Wales
John Davies received an MBE in the 2022 New Year's Honours List for "Services to the UK Cyber Ecosystem". In addition to working in information security for 35 years, those services included being the co-founder and chair of one of the first cyber security clusters in the UK and the formation of 'Cyber Wales', a not-for-profit umbrella organisation that supports the 12 cyber security clusters that now run in Wales as part of the largest ecosystem of its kind in the UK. All of this has been done on a voluntary basis, for his 'day job', John is the Co-founder of Pervade Software, a cybersecurity software SME that provides the platform for NCSC's Cyber Essentials Scheme, and the UK Police National Cyber Alarm service.
Sarah Kocianski - CEO, FinTech Wales
Sarah is a fintech and insurtech strategist with over a decade of industry experience. Prior to her appointment as CEO of FinTech Wales, Sarah has worked with global organisations, scaleups and startups from across the financial services industry and beyond, including major banks and insurers, healthtechs and retailers.
James Smith - CEO, Critical Cloud
James is a seasoned technology leader and entrepreneur with a passion for scaling businesses and optimising cloud operations. As the CEO of Critical Cloud, he helps tech SMBs streamline cloud complexity with AI-powered automation and expert engineering. With decades of experience in cloud incident management, scaling operations, and B2B growth, James has built and led high-performance teams, secured multi-million-dollar investments, and driven transformative growth across the tech industry. A recognised thought leader, he is committed to empowering SMBs to be faster, more resilient, and infinitely productive in the cloud age.
Avril Lewis MBE - Managing Director, Technology Connected
Avril has been championing Welsh technology and positioning Wales as a global innovation hub since 2012. She leads Wales Tech Week and the Wales Technology Awards, founded the Technology Leadership Council, and launched the Technology Connected Network to drive industry collaboration. Avril has also established working groups in Blockchain, Photonics, and Data & AI. In 2018, she was awarded an MBE for services to Welsh technology.
