Operational Technology (OT) detects or causes changes in physical devices, processes and events. For example, the interface which controls an automated factory line. OT is common in Industrial Control Systems (ICS) and in the world of critical infrastructure, may be used to regulate important services such as power stations or public transportation. As this technology advances, the need for OT security grows exponentially.
Please join us at the NDEC to see two live hacking demonstrations of operational technologies in our Cyber Lab, so you can see just how important security really is in these settings.
In the first demo we will hack into a public information display (train sign) and show you how to resolve this using a 'sandbox' reset.
The second demo will show a hack of a factory environment, where both virtual and physical Human Machine Interface's (HMIs) are compromised to alter the Process Logic Controllers (PLCs).
These demos are useful if you work in OT, ICS, or critical infrastructure, and would like to learn more about their security and the support capabilities available at the NDEC. They will also useful for anyone interested in the world of cyber security, or emerging technologies.
