The long term impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on many businesses is daunting and unprecedented, in equal measures. Whilst many businesses are unable to predict the long-term impact of Coronavirus with any degree of certainty, there is no doubt that the priority for most businesses over the coming months will be to consolidate and focus on long term survival. This has resulted in many employers taking advantage of the Government's Job Retention Scheme (JRS) and enquiring more generally in relation to the options available to them and their workforce. Post-lockdown, businesses will be planning for the next stage of their planning and focusing on bouncing back in a successful manner, in particular focusing on reducing any non-essential costs from its expenditure.

The session will offer practical and guidance on the following:

  • Dealing with the employment implications resulting from Covid-19;
  • Managing Redundancies safely;
  • Changes to workers contracts;
  • Other possible ways of reducing employee costs.
