Avril was appointed Managing Director of the Technology Connected, formerly the ESTnet, in May 2012.
Her background is in the semiconductor industry, and she was awarded the MBE for services to the technology industry in Wales in 2018.
Shaun has interests in electromagnetic theory and simulation along with the effect of advanced energy on biological tissue.
He grew up in Liverpool and moved to North Wales for his undergraduate degree where he gained first-class honours in Electronic Engineering and subsequently completed his PhD at Bangor University.
He’s been in Wales ever since and now lives near Chepstow working full time as a project leader and senior engineer.
Elliott holds a PhD in Physics (optoelectronics) and specialises in protecting inventions relating to a wide range of technologies, including telecommunications, photonics, electronics, and medical devices.
Elliott regularly delivers presentations and lectures on intellectual property and frequently assists the UK Patent Office with their intellectual property masterclasses.
Dr Carl Griffiths is the Technology Seed Fund Manager at Finance Wales. He holds a PhD in Physics from Cardiff University and is the former CEO and founder of Seren Photonics Ltd.
Prior to founding Seren, Carl worked as the Principal Research Engineer for BICC Cables Ltd and also founded ORS Ltd, a manufacturer of optical probes for the semiconductor industries. He was the Managing Director for ORS for eight years, running the business and raising equity funding before becoming Investment Manager at VC firm Fusion IP plc.
Carl now focuses on investing in IP rich Welsh technology ventures with the potential to be high growth companies. Carl has invested in several different technology sectors including engineering, software and materials. With new and follow-on investment experience, Carl aims to develop lasting successful relationships with the businesses he invests in.
Carl has worked with several commercial due diligence providers and co-investors and is adept at helping businesses shape and develop their ideas.
Lee Waters is the Member of the Senedd for the Llanelli constituency. He was born and raised in Carmarthenshire. He was educated in
Brynamman and Ammanford and gained a Degree in Politics from the University of Wales,Aberystwyth.
His policy interests are wide-ranging, including the economy, climate
change, provision for looked after children, digital policy and the media.
On 13 December 2018 he was appointed Deputy Minister for Economy and Transport.
